Consolidation of Seminar Papers: Shri B.K.Agarwal has come forward to consolidate and edit articles published in Souvenirs and talks delivered at our eight Seminars -all related to Health and Spirituality and publish them in book form under suitable titles. This is a wonderful idea brought up and agreed to in November meeting. Members may kindly spare some thought to help in the task, with suggestions for the titles. The book will have an academic tone. with  practical touch, and would be useful to every book-lover and senior citizens/housewives.

Gift our HHH Booklet as New Year Greeting: As you know, ROF has published a booklet   Holistic Health Awareness” in Hindi and Gujarati. We have about 100 Hindi and 800 Gujarati copies. The booklet can be an excellent substitute for a New Year Greeting Card. The cost is Rs.15 only- cheaper than a good greeting card. Those who send greeting cards to friends and relatives may please consider sending the booklet instead, which incorporates a greeting message as well.It could be a befitting  gift article too, which will not be thrown away like a card. Please consider this, for your own use, as well as for promoting through organizations you may know. If you intimate to M.P.Desai, the names and addresses of such prospects, he will send suitable communications to them direct..

Believe it? Gossip is more powerful than truth, a recent British study has shown, suggesting people believe what they hear through the grapevine even if they have evidence to the contrary. Researchers, testing students using a computer game, also found gossip played an important role when people make decisions.

Health Facts:

Laugh a While: ¨Written on a wall in a man’s room:” My wife follows me everywhere.”

Written just below it:” I do not”.

¨Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until                                                    you hear them speak.

Thought for the Day: The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty: Winston Churchill.

Food for Thought:  Gujarat is one of the most prosperous states of the country, with per capita GDP 3.2 times the national average. However, with growing consumption of ‘junk food’, both obesity and malnutrition have been fast increasing, particularly amongst younger sections of the population. Consequently, hypertension and diabetes have emerged as killer-diseases. Obesity, along with poor diet increases risk of certain types of cancer too There is urgent need to spread awareness of the serious health hazards posed by junk food. As responsible and concerned  senior  citizens,  let us set an example by dumping junk food ourselves.
