Thinking Positive: Reflections after the accident  (Wing Comdr: K.Ravindran):

During the past several weeks since my scooter accident in May confined me to enforced rest, I have been reflecting on the many positive aspects: -

    1.  Had the scooter turned right, instead of left, after the hit-and-run incident, my fate could have been worse with vehicles coming from behind.

2.      I was not wearing crash helmet and so, I was lucky not to have suffered head injury, spine injury, hipbone fracture or severe bleeding due to rupture of any artery/vein, aggravating my condition.

3.      My right side was not affected at all in the accident, and being right-handed, I am able to write, eat and do all my activities without difficulty

4.      While one rash and reckless youngster hit me and sped away without caring to stop, five boys stopped by to give me immediate help, both physical and moral.

5.      Such on the spot physical and moral support, and visits and concerned enquiries by relatives, neighbors, friends from ROF and many others, during the hospital stay and later at home, are invaluable for elderly couples like us, whose grown-up children work far away and are unable to respond to such emergencies.

6.      I am able to use this compulsory house arrest to catch up with a lot of things, which were neglected for some time now.

Finally, I come to the good old adage –“Whatever happens is for the good and this too shall pass”.

(Compiler’s Note: The vision behind the conception of Nuggets is to provide a forum for active communication amongst ROF family, to share ideas, information and experiences .For this, I earnestly seek contributions of interest from members, to reach by 15th each month for inclusion in the following issue of Nuggets: M.P.Desai).

Food for Thought:

13.  God made the country, and man made the town: William Cowper.

      2.  They say money is the root of all evil. But have you thought what is the root of money? :  Ann Ryan (Author of Atlas Shrugged, Fountainhead)

3.  A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. – Charles Gordy

Dhai Akshar Prem ke: Kabir.

The Hindi word Prem is made of two and half letters. One letter is for the lover, the second is for the beloved and the half for something unknown that exists between the two. Only when someone falls in love do the  two- and- half letters of ‘Prem”become complete. But no matter how hard you try, love never becomes complete .You are never content…It is also an indication that it is everlasting. Remember, whatsoever attains to completion, dies. To remain  incomplete is love’s nature. So a lover is never satisfied and therefore, his joy is endless. (Osho, ToI 30/6)

Laugh a While:

Cool Quote: George Eliot: One can say everything best over a meal.

T Shirt Quotes:

1.      I don’t forget faces easily, but am ready to make an exception for you.

2.      I will conquer my procrastination problem, JUST YOU WAIT.

3.       I get enough exercise just pushing my luck.
